Aryan Khan drug case: Sena Minister moves Supreme Court to probe ‘biased’ NCB, claims violation of Shah Rukh Khan’s son’s fundamental rights
What seemed like a drug nexus probe, is now becoming a war between Maharashtra government and Narcotics Control Bureau. After Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik raised questions over NCB’s style of working and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray claimed that the anti-drug agency is only interested in catching celebrities, now Shiv Sena leader Kishore Tiwari wants the Apex Court to order a probe into NCB’s affairs and violation of fundamental rights of Aryan Khan. Making the plea under Article 32 of the Constitution, Minister of State Kishore Tiwari recently urged Chief Justice N.V. Ramana’s intervention into the manner in which the NCB is hounding film personalities, models and other celebs since the past nearly two years. While referring to Mumbai’s Special NDPS Court deferring the verdict in the bail plea of Aryan Khan and other accused till October 20 citing public holidays, the Shiv Sena leader in his plea said this has led ‘to big humiliation and kept in jail in an undemocratic and illegal way’ for 17 nights. He also termed it a disregard to the fundamental Right to Life and Liberty. Kishore Tiwari also accused the NCB and its officials of ‘vendetta’ by targeting select celebs, and demanded a probe into the role of the central narcotics agency and the Mumbai Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede. He also raised questions about Wankhede’s wife, stating that the well-known Marathi filmstar is trying to make big in Bollywood, and that’s why only leading names in the film industry and their families are brought under the NCB lens. The Shiv Sena leader has also termed NCB’s probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case ‘diverted in an unrelated direction’ and demanded a probe against ‘NCB Mumbai and all-India, by an SC judge to unravel the rackets and the truth.’ terming it a fit case for immediate intervention by the SC.’ However, a while ago NCB also cleared its stand regarding the allegations levelled against it and termed them ‘baseless, motivated afterthoughts and prejudicial.’ Sameer Wankhede also talked about it and said that the agency works professionally and ‘does not see any political party and religion.’ Talking about Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, the starkid is currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail and will remain there at least till October 20, when the Mumbai court may pronounce its order on his bail plea.
