Before 2017, only those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ got ration: Yogi | India News

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday slammed the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) governments in the state and accused them of indulging in appeasement politics.
Addressing a rally in UP’s Kushinagar, chief minister said that under PM Modi leadership, there is no place for appeasement politics.
“Before 2017 was everyone able to get ration? Earlier only, those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ were digesting the ration,” Yogi said.

Last month, Yogi triggered protests by Samajwadi Party members in the state legislative council when he referred to their patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav as “abba jaan.”
The usually respectful Urdu term for “father” created a row as SP members took it as a jibe by the BJP suggesting that the opposition party remained focused on Muslims.
The chief minister on Sunday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 122 developmental projects worth Rs 245 crore in Sant Kabir Nagar district.
The projects also included the district prison built at Rs 126 crore.
