Reacting to these heart-wrenching and horrific crimes, several B-Town celebs also took to their social media handles to express their anger. While Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram story and wrote, ‘WTF is going on? This is infuriating’, actress Taapsee Pannu, who is known for her fearless attitude and often raises her voice on issues price around, wrote, ‘News today…every day…goes like this. Coz she fought too much. That’s the prize she paid for fighting her life.’ On the other hand, while Kareena Kapoor Khan dropped the broken heart emoji on a report about this crime, her BFF Malaika Arora posed an important question as she wrote, ‘when will it be safe for women?’ Kalki Koechlin, while advocating to bring the accused into ‘plain view’, wrote, ‘Is there a way to make the accused the headline of such crimes? How old are they? What do they do? Do they have a record of past crimes? These are people who live amongst us, we need to bring them out into plain view.’ Other celebs like Sophie Choudry, Mini Mathur, Arjun Kapoor also expressed their anger for such crimes. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar lost his mother Aruna Bhatia on September 8. Now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter of condolence to the actor. Taking to his Instagram handle, Akshay Kumar shared the letter sent to him by the PM himself and a part of which reads, ‘I was saddened by the demise of your Mother, Smt. Aruna Bhatia. When I spoke to you that fateful morning, you were crestfallen and you encapsulated it emotionally when you wrote, She was my core. And today I feel an unbreakable pain at the very core of my existence.’ While expressing his gratitude to the PM for his kind and comforting words, Akshay also penned a gratitude note that reads, ‘Humbled by condolence messages on mom’s passing, thankful to all. Grateful to the Hon’ble PM for this amazing gesture to take out time and express warm feelings for me and my late parents. These comforting words will stay with me forever. Jai Ambe’.
