‘Bigg Boss 14’ contestant and singer Rahul Vaidya has been getting death threats lately. He recently launched his new single ‘Garbe ki Raat’ on the occasion of Navratri. However, the song didn’t go down too well with some of the Gujarati devotees as it has a mention of ‘Shri Mogal Maa’ in it. ‘Shri Mogal Maa’ is a very respected deity in Gujarat. Ever since the release of his new single, Rahul Vaidya has been receiving a lot of messages and threat calls asking him to remove the deity’s name from the song. Confirming the news, Rahul’s team has issued a statement saying, ‘Yes, it is true these messages and calls have gone up in number since last night, the messages speak about having Rahul Vaidya killed, beaten and filing FIRs against him to have him arrested and so on.’ After facing such backlash, the singer is now considering rectifying the name of the deity as his team has added in the statement, ‘While we would like to maintain that the mention of the deity was done with respect and did not mean to hurt anyone’s sentiments. However, understanding the fact that the mention has not gone down too well with a certain section of people, we respect that and are working to get it rectified at our level.’ The singer’s team also urged the section of devotees whose sentiments got hurt with the song to give some time to make changes. ‘We urge everyone who has taken offence to this to allow us a few days as the platform we have released the song on will take at least a few days to adjust the rectification. Rest assured we respect the emotions and sentiments of all those who have raised their concern and are diligently working towards rectifying it’, says the statement. ‘Garbe Ki Raat’ is sung by Rahul Vaidya and Bhoomi Trivedi and was released on October 8th.
